APRIL GABRIELLE’
“One family at a time &
one child to make a difference.”

April Gabrielle’ is a proud single mother of two, one her son, a Cellular Molecular Biology major, and a teen daughter who is an honor student in Chemistry, Math and English, bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish. She understands by real life experience the many challenges facing single parents, who are attempting with their children to cope through hard work, to rise out of the social and economic pressures facing them.

This California native is currently pursuing a Master Science in Criminal Justice (Kaplan University, Iowa), holds a Master of Arts in Human Behavior (National University, CA) and completed coursework in Master of Education (National University, CA).  After modeling professionally, April worked in corporate america for over 25 years in Administrative Operations & Community Relation, Banking, Human Resources,  Law Enforcement and institutions of higher education.

April has always been passionate about building relationships within the family and within the community. She has volunteered her services for several state, community and corporate agencies over the years.  Serving as Bargaining Unit Representative for CSUEU,  assisting with promotion and coordinating events for Former U.S. Secretaries of Health and Human Services Donna E. Shalala's "Every Child by Two Campaign", supervisor Greg Cox "Welfare to Work", San Diego County Peri-natal program, Hitachi Home Electronics (Interim Vice Chair Community Action Committee), San Diego State University (Instructor -Freshman Success), and will participate as a career mentor for "Just in Time for Foster Youth" in fall 2011.

She received training as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), has counseled single parents and teens, including those residing in juvenile residential detention facilities. She is a motivational speaker; startup business consultant and owns and operates a mediation service.  April is currently developing a program for single parents on "Strengthening the Family"

After establishing her own publishing company, "Put it on Paper Publishing" April launched "The Myth of the Broken Home-Guidebook for Single Parents”  using her life, experience and education as a single mother in America.  This book provides single parents a step-by-step guide to reach their goal of effective parenting and helps to avoid the stereotypes of being a single parent.  April believes that obstacles are no excuse for not parenting our children.  Upon reading this book, single parents will receive the necessary tools to raise accountable, successful, and respectable children.  April offers a very authentic and candid approach towards single parenting.  She delivers instruction through her experiences as a foster child and meeting her biological parents, dating, dealing with the courts, domestic violence, education, discipline, teens, budgeting, and much more.

She is a gifted, empowering speaker. Always encouraging others where they are.   But, this is her authentic self.   April can relate to anybody, her advice transcends  gender, race and age.  I experienced it myself .
